CLO ExploreX is a school and youth programme for the things a timetable never gets to — money, boundaries, negotiation, and what to do when the plan falls through.

School prepares them for the exam.

Then they leave, and the first real decisions are about a tenancy agreement, a payslip they can’t read, and a room where someone more senior is wrong.

Six strands. Every one of them rehearsed.

Money that makes sense

Budgets, pay slips, debt and the compound-interest maths nobody explains until it is expensive.

Saying the hard thing

Negotiating, disagreeing and asking for more — rehearsed out loud, not described on a slide.

Thinking it through

Spotting a bad argument, a rigged statistic and an algorithm optimising for outrage.

People skills

Friendship, conflict and consent, handled as skills that can be practised rather than traits you have or don’t.

Boundaries

Recognising pressure early, online and off, and having the language ready to end it.

What comes next

Routes into work and study that are not the one route the prospectus is selling.

The roles already exist. The preparation doesn’t.

Student council, press club, house captain — schools hand out real responsibility every year, then leave the skills that make it survivable to chance. ExploreX is the term that fills that in.

04How It Runs

    We come to you

    Sessions run in your building, in your timetable, with your safeguarding policy. No trips to arrange, no cover to book.

  2. 02

    Facilitators, not lecturers

    Every strand is led by someone who has done the thing they’re teaching. Students work through it aloud rather than take notes on it.

  3. 03

    You keep the toolbox

    Staff get the session plans and materials at the end of the term, so the programme carries on after we leave.

05In The Room

This is what a session actually looks like.

Not a lecture hall. A room with the chairs turned in, someone at the front who has done the thing, and everybody expected to speak.
